U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Xinyi Xie, a supply clerk with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 121, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, awaits her promotion aboard Amphibious Assault Ship USS Tripoli (LHA-7), Aug. 4, 2022, in the Philippine Sea. Xie is a Miami, Florida native. The promotion ceremony took place on the flight deck of LHA-7. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of Tripoli Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
