NORFOLK (July 19, 2022) – Fireman Jace Gaza twists copper wire used for flange shields onboard the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1), July 19, 2022. The wire is used to maintain the integrity of the flange shields which are used along fuel, oil, and steam pipes to prevent harmful spray outs.
