Colombian air force 1st Lt. Gabriel Enrique Useche, joint terminal attack controller, views a map on his tablet at Avon Park Air Force Range, Florida, May 10, 2022. The tablet provided Useche with real-time aircraft footage and data, bridging communication gaps between ground crews and pilots through the Airborne Extensible Relay Over-Horizon Network. AERONet is a secure, affordable, and exportable data link capable of providing video, voice, chat, and command and control capabilities and includes beyond line-of-sight connectivity via commercial internet.
