U.S. Airman 1st Class Stefan Ali, 35th Civil Engineer Squadron water and fuel system journeyman, sprays cutting fluid onto a pipe while the Water and Fuel Expedient Repair System makes a cut during the annual Prime Base Engineer Emergency Force training at Misawa Air Base, Japan, June 14, 2022. Cutting fluids are used to cool and lubricate the machining region as well as flush away the chips produced. This process improves the machines surface finish and reduces wear and tear.
