JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (May 9, 2022) - Hospitalman Jonas Winchester, of New Castle, Oklahoma, assists during a punch biopsy procedure at Naval Hospital Jacksonville. Winchester says “I enjoy assisting the doctor with different types of procedures and being challenged on the large scope of treatment and care we provide.” On June 17, the Navy Hospital Corps celebrates 124 years of service, tending to the sick and injured. Hospital Corpsmen have earned 22 Medals of Honor and nearly half of them were given posthumously.
