    Efren Asteban, a local volunteer, is handed a bucket of paint by U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Gary Wilson, Marine Wing Support Squadron 172, assigned to 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, III Marine Expeditionary Force while constructing a new classroom as part of an engineer civil assistance project in support of Amphibious Landing Exercise 2013 (PHIBLEX 2013) at Dallipawen Elementary School, San Narciso, Zambales, Republic of the Philippines, Oct. 11, 2012. Asteban works alongside Armed Forces of the Philippines Marines and Sailors along with U.S. Marines with Marine Wing Support Squadron 172, assigned to 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, III Marine Expeditionary. PHIBLEX 2013 is a bilateral training exercise conducted annually in the Republic of the Philippines to enhance amphibious readiness of both militaries and to strengthen interoperability.
