Vic Garcia, officer-in-charge, Marine Corps Security Cooperation Training Detachment (MCSCTD), during an activation ceremony at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story, Virginia, May 9, 2022. The ceremony formally activated MCSCTD following the deactivation of Marine Corps Security Cooperation Group on September 2, 2021. MCSCTD was established as part of the Force Design 2030 initiative to streamline the Marine Advisor Course and create an efficient pipeline for advisors trained to incorporate security cooperation into interoperability planning between the U.S. Marine Corps and its strategic partners.
