Fire Chief Justin Mowry of the Wilsonville, Nebraska, Volunteer Fire Department views wildfire destruction of a rural farmstead through the window of a Nebraska Army National Guard UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter and makes a recording on his smartphone May 3, 2022, near Cambridge, Nebraska. The Road 702 wildfire ignited April 22 in Kansas and quickly spread northward into Furnas and Red Willow counties in Nebraska, fueled by drought conditions and strong winds, and burned more than 40,000 acres before being fully extinguished approximately April 30 by firefighting efforts and rainfall.
