220421-N-JX182-1130 PHILIPPINE SEA (April 21, 2022) Engineman 2nd Class Ivin Tyson, from Middletown, New York, chains an MH-60S Seahawk helicopter, attached to the “Wildcards” of Helicopter Sea Combat (HSC) Squadron 23, assigned to the Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Jackson (LCS 6), to the flight deck. Jackson, part of Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 7, is on a rotational deployment, operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response force in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
