Tiarra Lewis of Tacoma, Wash., said executing their training rotation mission at the National Training Center despite the challenge posed by the omicron variant of COVID-19 was less a matter of overcoming the challenge and more a matter of learning to live with it as a condition on the battlefield. 1-2 SBCT is the first unit to train at the the Fort Irwin, Calif. training center since the omicron variant of COVID-19 began spreading rapidly across the United States.
