U.S. Army Spc. Kristian Kelly, a small arms artillery repair specialist from the 1st Battalion, 194th Field Artillery, spends half of his 12-hour shift, seven days a week, manning an entry control point to the secured compound that is the site of one of the Counter-Rocket, Artillery, Mortar guns at Al Asad Air Base, Iraq, on June 7, 2021. Kelly, from Iowa National Guard, was attached to the 194th Field Artillery to augment air defense units in a mission critical in defending Coalition forces from emerging enemy threats, including the use of sophisticated unmanned aerial vehicles.
