Navy USS Makin Island (LHD-8) and Fleet Surgical Team NINE, Army 8th Forward Resuscitative Surgical Detachment, and US Marine Corps Combat Logistics Battalion-13 came together as a single Joint Health Services Support team to exercise casualty receiving at sea aboard USS MAKIN ISLAND during exercise Steel Knight 22 (SK22), Dec. 6. SK22 is a 1st Marine Division led annual training exercise which enables the Navy-Marine Corps team to operate in a realistic combined-arms environment to enhance naval warfighting tactics, techniques and procedures.
