U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Eric Cooley, a native of East Haddam, Conn., and an engineering equipment operator with 2d Combat Engineer Battalion, 2d Marine Division, holds up his new Marine Corps Martial Arts Instructor (MAI) belt after completing the culminating event of Marine Corps MAI Course 123-22 on Camp Lejeune, N.C., Dec. 7, 2021. “During this course you learn a lot about yourself and how to keep on pushing, as an individual and as a team,” Cooley said.
