Gavin Duff, commanding officer of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75), speak to local media outlets onboard Naval Station Norfolk. Truman departed Naval Station Norfolk as part of Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group’s (HSTCSG) deployment in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts. The USS San Jacinto (CG 56), USS Bainbridge (DDG 96), USS Gravely (DDG 107), USS Jason Dunham (DDG 109), USS Cole (DDG 67), HNOMS Fridtjof Nansen (F310) and Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 1 will support maritime security operations along with coalition maritime forces.
