A memorial flower rest against a tree during a Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) recovery mission, Ha Tinh Province, Vietnam, Nov. 17, 2021. Vietnamese officials placed flowers in memorial U.S. service member who was lost over Central Vietnam during the Vietnam War. The joint cooperation between DPAA and the government of Vietnam has led to the location and identification of the more than 729 personnel missing in action. There are currently 1,584 U.S. service members still unaccounted for from the Vietnam War.
