Texas Army National Guard Maj. Gen. The ceremony marked the retirement of Hamilton, outgoing commanding general of 36th Infantry Division and his more than 35 years of military service. During his time, Hamiltom has served as the as the chief of operations for the U.S. Sector, Operation Noble Eagle where he served as a battalion commander, Operation Enduring Freedom where he served as the Red Team leader for the 101st Airborne Division, commanding general and dual status commander during the Hurricane Harvey response, and commanding general for Task Force Spartan in support of Operation Spartan Shield.
