211023-N-FA490-1147 PHILIPPINE SEA (Oct. 23, 2021) Aviation Machinist’s Mate 2nd Class Danielle Jenkins, from Bellevue, Wash., right, and Aviation Structural Mechanic 2nd Class Rachel Powell, from Stafford, Va., both assigned to the “Wildcards” of Helicopter Sea Combat (HSC) Squadron 23, wash an MH-60S Seahawk helicopter on the flight deck of the Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Jackson (LCS 6) during routine operations. HSC 23 and Jackson, part of Destroyer Squadron Seven, are on a rotational deployment in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operation to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response force in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
