Staff Sgt. Corey Clark is awarded the Lifesaving Award June 19, 2021, Bell County Sheriff’s Department (BCSD) was dispatched to a person that was standing on the ledge of a bridge prepared to jump and kill himself. When BCSD arrived, three other individuals, (Sergant 1st. Class Nicholas Ketch, Staff Sgt. Stephen Gulczynski, and Corey Clark) had already arrived and were talking to the person to come back over the ledge. One of the individuals then leaped forward and grabbed the person in a “hug” to pull them back over the ledge. It was believed that had the intervention not happened, that individual would have jumped. Turns out, all involved are Soldiers of 2-12 CAV and for their efforts in saving this Soldiers Life, the BCSD Sheriff and the 178 BCSD LNO put the individuals in for an award or certificate from the county. 7 October 2021, Fort Hood, TX.
