The remains of U.S. Marine Corps Private 1st Class Harold W. Hayden, are shown to his sister Phyllis Hayden-Burkett and Niece, Amy Hayden inside the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) family viewing room during a chain of custody ceremony at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, Oct. 8, 2021. Hayden went Missing in Action during the battle of Tarawa on Nov. 22, 1943, and was identified March 3, 2020. The remains will be transported to Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia, where he will be buried with full military honors.
