A joint honor guard team prepare to carry the cremated remains of eight unclaimed veterans at State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown, CT on Oct. 1, 2021. The Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs, Connecticut Army National Guard, first responders and many veterans’ service organizations held a ceremony to lay to rest the unclaimed veterans who served in conflicts from World War II to the Vietnam War.
