Sgt. Maj. Ronald P. Waldie, right front, and Col. Ambrose Mbonu, section leads for the Counter-Daesh Train and Equip Fund-Iraq program for the 1st Theater Sustainment Command Operational Command Post, inspect trucks in a holding yard near the Port of Shuaiba, Kuwait, on Sept. 29, 2021. The trucks are just a few pieces of equipment destined for the Iraqi Security Forces as part of the U.S. government’s strategy to counter the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria by building partner capacity. Waldie and Mbonu deployed to Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, with the Fort Bragg, N.C., based 3rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command in August.
