U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Coulter Vandewalle, an engineer equipment operator with Combat Logistics Battalion 2 (CLB-2), 2nd Marine Logistics Group (2d MLG), and native of Bozeman, Montana, operates a Light Capability Rough Terrain Forklift to unload supplies for Upshur Village while Lance Cpl. Jesus Vega, an engineer equipment operator with CLB-2, 2d MLG, and native of Palm Springs, California, ground guides Vandewalle on Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, Sept. 23, 2021. The Department of Defense, through U.S. Northern Command, and in support of the Department of Homeland Security, is providing transportation, temporary housing, medical screening, and general support of at least 50,000 Afghan evacuees at suitable facilities, in permanent or temporary structures, as quickly as possible.
