APRA HARBOR, Guam (Sept. 11, 2021) The commanding officer of Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Jackson (LCS 6) Cmdr. Brian Bungay, from Modesto, Calif., right, and Cmdr. Stacy Wuthier, from Denver, Colo., cut a cake during a change of command ceremony in the hangar bay aboard Jackson. The Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) is a fast, agile, mission-focused platform designed to operate in near-shore environments, winning against 21st-century coastal threats. The LCS is capable of supporting forward presence, maritime security, sea control, and deterrence. (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 3rd Class Kelsey S. Culbertson)
