COMLOG WESTPAC/CTF 73 Holds Sept. 11 Remembrance Ceremony

7TH FLEET AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY (Sept. 11, 2021) - From left, Rear Adm. Philip Sobeck, commander, Logistics Group Western Pacific and Task Force 73; Capt. Samuel F. de Castro, commodore, Military Sealift Command Far East; and COMLOG WESTPAC/CTF 73 Command Master Chief Jonathon Carter participate in a Sept. 11 ceremony in remembrance of the lives lost during terrorist attacks on that date 20 years ago. After these leaders placed wreaths on command flagpoles, Chief Master-at-Arms Alexis Santiago, struck a command bell 20 times, once for each year since airplanes crashed into the World Trade Center Twin Towers, the Pentagon and in a field in Somerset, Pennsylvania. "Keep those who were lost on that day and the days following in your thoughts. Make their sacrifice worth it by being that leader who never forgets, ensuring those we lead never forget," Sobeck said.
