A U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor from the 1st Fighter Wing based at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, approaches a KC-135 Stratotanker to refuel mid-air during Red Flag Alaska, 21-3 at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, August 25, 2021. To improve tactical capabilities for air-to-air combat, the 18th Aggressor Squadron, assigned to Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska, provided the adversary air threat which aims to simulate possible tactics that may be used by threats our pilots may encounter during combat.
