U.S. Marines with Fleet Anti-terrorism Security Company, Europe (FASTEUR), U.S. Navy Sailors with Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit 8 (EODMU 8), and Naval Construction Forces, the “Seabees”, Commander, Task Force - 68 (CTF-68) depart a U.S. Air Force C-40 in Sigonella, Italy Aug. 20,2021 for deployment to Naval Air Station Sigonella in support of the Department of Defense mission to facilitate the safe departure and relocation of U.S. citizens, Special Immigration Visa recipients, and vulnerable Afghan populations from Afghanistan. NAS Sigonella’s strategic location enables U.S, allied, and partner nation forces to deploy and respond as required to ensure security and stability in Europe, Africa, and Central Command.
