U.S. Air Force 1st Lt. Kyle Knutson, the 177th Intelligence Squadron commander, North Dakota Air National Guard, right, cheers on Senior Master Sgt. Brandon Miller, also of the 177th Intelligence Squadron, as he runs the final leg of the 107.3-mile version of the Maah Daah Hey Trail ultramarathon with support and gear team member Melissa Haugrud in the beautiful badlands of North Dakota Aug. 1, 2021. His SAG team meets him at each checkpoint and provides him with food, liquids and equipment to stay cool and dry between the stages of the race. He is putting on dry socks and shoes at each checkpoint. Shupe accepted Miller's proposal of marriage at the finish line of the race, which Miller completed in 30 hours, 17 minutes.
