SAN DIEGO (Jul. 29, 2021) Sailors assigned to the Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Jackson (LCS 6) and USS Cincinnati (LCS 20) maintain security at the entry control point during an Anti-Terrorism Force Protection (ATFP) exercise on board Naval Base San Diego. The Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) is a fast, agile, mission-focused platform designed to operate in near-shore environments, winning against 21st-century coastal threats. The LCS is capable of supporting forward presence, maritime security, sea control, and deterrence. (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class Ryan M. Breeden/Released)
