Petty officer 3rd Class David Hilton, a corpsman serving with 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, kisses his wife, Carina Hilton, a 24 year-old native of Tucson, Az., during a homecoming event here, Sept. 29, 2012. The Marines had a two-hour layover in Alaska where Hilton bought a bouquet of flowers for his wife. The Marines and sailors serving with 1st Bn., 1st Marines performed counterinsurgency operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan and transitioned into a more supportive role letting the Afghan National Army lead operations.
