Sergeant Christopher Posey, a field radio operator with 1st Battalion, 1st Marine regiment, holds his two-year-old son during a homecoming event here, Sept. 29, 2012. Posey, a 22 year-old native of Pacific Grove, Calif. was deployed to Helmand province, Afghanistan in July of 2012. 1st Bn., 1st Marines performed counterinsurgency operations, and transitioned into a more supportive role allowing the Afghan National Army to lead operations.
