U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Jordyn Parker with Chemical Biological Radioactive Nuclear, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), conducts mechanical advantage control hold techniques on a combatant during Oleoresin Capsicum spray training aboard amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) in the Coral Sea, July 21, 2021. The training consisted of Marines practicing a series of drills to prepare for riot control and proper use of non-lethal weapon deployment. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Expeditionary Strike Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
