    210712-N-JW440-2169 GULF OF ADEN (July 12, 2021) – Ensign Philip Middleton, assigned to guided missile cruiser USS Shiloh (CG 67), uses a sextant to determine the distance between the ship and British Royal Fleet Auxiliary replenishment tanker RFA Tidespring (A 136) during a refueling-at-sea in the Gulf of Aden, July 12. Shiloh is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
