Over 200 National Guard security forces members from 15 different units participated in a simulated crowd control exercise with Nebraska and Wisconsin State Police June 17, 2021 during a PATRIOT 21 at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin where the National Guard has been activated to assist local law enforcement agencies with crowd control efforts. PATRIOT 21 is a training exercise designed for military members to work alongside civilian emergency management and first responders in the same manner they would during a natural disaster so that in the case of a real-world disaster all agencies can maximize their response efforts, provide necessary resources to the communities affected and save more lives.
