U.S. National Guard security forces members stand in formation with Nebraska and Wisconsin State Police during a simulated crowd control exercise June 17, 2021 during a PATRIOT 21 at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin where the National Guard has been activated to assist local law enforcement agencies with crowd control efforts. PATRIOT 21 is a training exercise designed for military members to work alongside civilian emergency management and first responders in the same manner they would during a natural disaster so that in the case of a real-world disaster all agencies can maximize their response efforts, provide necessary resources to the communities affected and save more lives.
