YOKOSUKA, Japan (June 18, 2021) – Naoko Kawanishi, assigned to Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka’s (CFAY) Commodore Matthew C. Perry Galley, receives the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine from Hospitalman Maya Teal, assigned to U.S. Naval Hospital Yokosuka, during a vaccine distribution at CFAY’s Hawk’s Nest. With Government of Japan authorization, CFAY began administering vaccines to Navy-sponsored Master Labor Contract, Indirect Hire Agreement, and Mariner’s Contract employees, June 18. For more than 75 years, CFAY has provided, maintained, and operated base facilities and services in support of the U.S. 7th Fleet’s forward-deployed naval forces, tenant commands, and thousands of military and civilian personnel and their families.
