(June 16, 2021) Hospital Corpsman 1st Class Gregory Willden, a Sailor assigned to the Freedom-variant littoral combat ship USS Little Rock (LCS 9), answers questions during a virtual, live-broadcast Q&A video call at Naval Station Mayport, Fla., with citizens of Buffalo, N.Y., for Navy Week Buffalo. USS Little Rock (LCS 9) was commissioned in Buffalo, New York, Dec. 16, 2017 just 50 feet from its namesake, the ex-USS Little Rock (CL 92), at the Buffalo & Erie County Naval and Military Park. It is the second U.S. Navy vessel to bear the name of Arkansas’ capital city. Little Rock is homeported at Naval Station Mayport, Florida.
