CLE is important to the overall Coalition Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF - OIR) mission because it allows leaders to collect information on local atmospherics and build positive sentiment toward US Forces and Coalition Forces. These missions enable CJTF - OIR to set the conditions for follow-on operations to increase regional stability and to ensure the enduring defeat of ISIS in designated areas of Iraq and Syria.
