SASEBO, Japan (May 03, 2021) Lt. Cmdr. Joshua J. Cowart, from Jacksonville, FL, pins the Command at Sea pin to Lt. Cmdr. James Billings, from Washington, during a change of command ceremony. Billings relieved Cowart as commanding officer of the Avenger-class mine countermeasures ship USS Chief (MCM 14) during the ceremony. Chief, part of Mine Countermeasures Squadron 7, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response platform for contingency operations.
