U.S. Army Lt. Gen. Thomas S. James, Jr., First Army commanding general, presents the First Army Individual Award of Excellence in Safety to Chief Warrant Officer 3 Brian M. Lazzara, UH-60 pilot and regiment safety officer for 3rd Battalion, 351st Aviation Regiment, 166th Aviation Brigade, during an awards ceremony held at Division West Headquarters in Fort Hood, Texas, April 27. Lazzara stepped in to accept the award on behalf of his colleague, Chief Warrant 4 Nicholas D. Tabler, test pilot for the 166th Aviation Brigade, at the time of the ceremony. The First Army Individual Award of Excellence in Safety is awarded to individuals each fiscal year to service members who make significant contributions to accident prevention.
