    Federal Vaccine Response

U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Joshua Goley, an Asheboro, North Carolina native and aircraft maintainer with the 2nd Maintenance Squadron, 2nd Bomb Wing stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana, registers community members for their vaccination at the state-led, federally-supported Ford Field Community Vaccination Center in Detroit, Michigan, April 15, 2021. Goley is part of a group of Airmen assigned to 1st Detachment, 64th Air Expeditionary Group that are assisting with the vaccination efforts. His main responsibility is supporting local community members by ensuring they are within health standards to receive their vaccination. Goley, who lost his grandfather to COVID-19, said to his family back home, “It's nice to see a lot of appreciation from people coming through, and I’m excited to help more.” Goley is ready to provide a helping hand to the community of Detroit. U.S. Northern Command, through U.S. Army North, remains committed to providing continued, flexible Department of Defense support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency as part of the whole-of-government response to COVID-19.
