A U.S. Airman with the Louisiana National Guard (LANG) loads a case of meals, ready to eat for Chalmette, La., residents who were affected by Hurricane Isaac Aug. 31, 2012. LANG had more than 6,000 Soldiers and Airmen on duty to support area residents and local and state authorities during Hurricane Isaac operations. Isaac developed as a tropical storm over the Western Atlantic Ocean Aug. 21, 2012, affecting Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Haiti and Cuba before making landfall as a hurricane on the Gulf Coast of the United States.
