U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Paige Eaglestone, a Kirkland, Washington, native and aerospace medical technician with the 88th Surgical Operations Squadron, 88th Air Base Wing stationed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, places gauze on a community member’s arm after they received the COVID-19 vaccine at the state-led, federally-supported Ford Field COVID-19 Community Vaccination Center in Detroit, April 12, 2021. Eaglestone is part of a group of Airmen assigned to 1st Detachment, 64th Air Expeditionary Group that are assisting with the vaccination efforts. Her main responsibility is supporting the local community members by administering vaccinations. To her family back home, she said, “I am happy to help the community here, people are really nice and friendly.” U.S. Northern Command, through U.S. Army North, remains committed to providing continued, flexible Department of Defense support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency as part of the whole-of-government response to COVID-19.
