U.S. Army Spc. Raul Gonsalves, native of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and a combat medic with 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), is aware of the impact the pandemic has had on everyone. “The pandemic has taken an emotional toll on a lot of people trying to push through this without visiting family,” he said. Gonsalves says he is just happy to serve. “It feels good to provide a service that is helping people to start moving past this pandemic,” he said. U.S. Army North remains committed to providing continued, flexible Department of Defense support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency as part of the whole-of-government response to COVID-19.
