JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-FORT SAM HOUSTON – (March 9, 2021) Navy Counselor 1st Class Ryan Evans (right), of Sacramento, Calif., a medical officer programs recruiter assigned to Talent Acquisition Onboarding Center (TAOC) Capital City, was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal by Rear Adm. Dennis Velez, commander, Navy Recruiting Command (NRC) at Navy Talent Acquisition Group (NTAG) San Antonio headquarters. Evans earned the award for being NRC’s Medical Officer Recruiter of the Year for Fiscal Year 2020. “I want to make a difference,” said Evans, a 1994 graduate of Golden Sierra High School in Garden Valley, Calif. “It’s not just about making mission, but being instrumental in recruiting the best medical officers into the Navy.” NRC consists of a command headquarters, three Navy Recruiting Regions, 26 NTAGs, and 64 Talent Acquisition Onboarding Centers (TAOCs) that serve more than 1,000 recruiting stations around the world.
