Jim Bizzel, a U.S. paralympian, stretches before a workout Aug. 20, 2012, at RAF Lakenheath, England. Bizzel was competing in the 200-meter and 4:100-meter races. More than 50 U.S. paralympians and hopefuls were honing their skills and making final preparations for competition in the 2012 Paralympic Games in London. The Paralympics is a major international sporting event in which thousands of athletes, including wounded and injured U.S. service members, participate in a variety of sporting events.
