Staff Sgt. Jesse Ryan, a career counselor assigned to the 4th Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, I Corps and native of Highwood, Mont., appears before a board of Army senior- noncommissioned officers presided over by Sgt. Maj. Daniel R. Bashill, I Corps' command career counselor, during the Corps' Career Counselor of the Year competition at the Retention Office, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., Aug. 23. The competitors were judged based on physical fitness and a written test as well as their understanding of Army retention. Ryan was named I Corps' Career Counselor of the Year.
