    Mark Hall (left), 20th Civil Engineer Squadron Pollution Prevention manager, U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Kevin Pinaha, 609th Air Communications Squadron systems administrator, and Bob Weaver, 609th Air Communications Squadron project manager, begin to identify and organize recyclable material at Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., Aug. 16, 2012. Shaw currently stands at a 51 percent recycle rate of waste, 11 percent higher than the Air Force standard; 10 to 15 percent of Shaw's recycled waste is reused, cutting acquisition cost of new material and items, saving an estimated $100,000 a year.
