Spc. Yasser Affifi, a linguist with 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, takes the Oath of Allegiance for naturalized citizens, Nov. 11, at Logistic Support Area Anaconda. Affifi is one of 178 veterans who earned U.S. citizenship on Veterans Day in the largest naturalization ceremony in Iraq to date. A July 2002 executive order made members of the Armed Forces immediately eligible to apply for citizenship.
