    An A-10 Thunderbolt II sits on the aircraft ramp at Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan. The aircraft was recently flown by A-10 pilot, Zucco, in a harrowing mission to support ambushed coalition forces fighting during dangerous weather conditions. Pilots and a dozen other pilots from their home unit, the 104th Fighter Squadron with the Maryland Air National Guard, protected about 90 coalition service members during a major battle in the mountains of eastern Afghanistan.
