Springli Payeur, a critical care nurse with 3rd Medical Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, and a native of Falmouth, Maine, briefs Navy corpsmen before a flight during En Route Care training as part of MEU Exercise at Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, Okinawa, Japan, Dec. 8, 2020. En Route Care allows Navy Corpsmen to give medical aid to patients while flying in aircraft. The 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premiere crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
